Check these beauties out!

Compiled by Terryn Drieling

EDITOR:  Here’s our pick of pre-engineered, custom, modular and just plain gorgeous, practical barns for the working ranch.  The barn is special to WR readers.  It is a gathering place, somewhere to plan the coming day or reflect on the one that just unfolded.  It’s a place to witness the miracle of calving, or shelter your beloved horses from the rain and snow.  Your gear is stored with pride in the tack room. It’s home to the best kitty cat you’ll ever want to meet.  It smells like hay, horses, leather…and heaven. Take a look at what we found.

Stockade Buildings

Stockade Buildings specializes in pre-engineered barns custom designed to suit most any horse housing need. The Rafter “S” System post beam construction provides a clean and open interior, lending itself to unobstructed airflow and proper ventilation.

Stockade’s stalls are as strong as they are easy on the eye. The stalls are built from high quality southern yellow pine and can be equipped with a variety of stall fronts based on individual needs and preferences.

Although equine facilities are Stockade’s specialty, Stockade Buildings are not limited to housing horses. Stockade stalls are suitable for cattle, their barns also house everything from tack and hay to machinery and even people. Their popular Custom Red Stall Barn has been duplicated and converted into one part stall barn and one part home.

Harmony Timberworks

From horse barns to houses, Harmony Timberworks is in the business of crafting timber frame buildings that are as beautiful as they are functional. Harmony designers have worked with everything from detailed drawings to mere ideas, customizing timber frame buildings to suit individual style and necessity.

Dedicated to turning out the highest quality products, all Harmony joint and timber pieces are test fitted to ensure accuracy and quality prior to installation. The timbers are identified and tagged based on position in the timber frame layout. And each set of building plans are stamped and sealed, ensuring structural integrity and state and location code compliance.

The Harmony team stays involved from start to finish and offers on-site installation of their timber frame buildings. They can also send a technical advisor to the site to oversee the installation. The Harmony team works with clients to ensure timber systems arrive exactly when they are needed.
